Led by Oronde S. Sharif, Africana Studies lecturer at University of Pittsburgh
Oronde S. Sharif currently leads the Shona Sharif African Drum and Dance Ensemble. This African drum and dance ensemble promotes educational and creative presentations, performances, and workshops informing the community about the culture of Africa and the Diaspora.
KerrPTO is pleased that Oronde S. Sharif accepted our invitation to lead the African drumming and dance event. Each student will learn about the history and significance of drumming and dance in African culture.
KerrPTO would like to invite all Fox Chapel Area School District’s Elementary School Students
Kids will be engaged in the African drumming and dance demonstrations and will be able to particiate by drumming and learning a dance!
